Edwin Platt Recovered From the Sea Memorial Planned

Yesterday in the early afternoon Edwin (Skip) Platt, my daughter’s Pop, was recovered from the sea. They found him extremely close to the point where he dove into the water to rescue his beloved boat, the Sassy Traveler.

It seems he was notified by the Harbor Patrol his boat had broken mooring during a wild storm and taken a trip down the coast towards Summerland. His fiancee claims they drove along the 101 to see where it had gotten to and he swung off at Summerland exit and drove to the end of the parking lot. There he got out ouf his clothes, went to the end of the spit and dove in ahead of the boat in an effert to board it.

The tentative date for his memorial is April 12th at Shoreline beach.

His family from the East Coast will be arriving a few days earlier to make sure all is in order.

Please, if you want to do anything for our dear family member and friend use the information listed below for his daughter, Lindsey Platt’s trust fund.

Thanks ahead of time. Sooz

Lindsey– I am so sorry for your loss. I work at KSBY is San Luis Obispo and we were wondering if you could e-mail us some pictures of your father or if you would like to do an interview over the phone or on camera. We are running a story on tonight’s show about your trust fund.

Please feel free to e-mail me or call the news room at (805) 597-8400.

Thank you for reading this during this difficult time.

    Sincerely,

Just got a heads up that there may be a 1 year Memorial Anniversary for “Skip” in the beginning planning stages scheduled tentatively this coming March (the month Edwin G Platt Jr. actually vanished) 2009. I can keep you posted if you wish. Susan Allen SeattleGirlMakesGood (aka: Sooz)
